The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly has organized an emergency Assembly Meeting on Budget statement & economic policy for the 2018 fiscal year. Since the creation of the assembly, it has worked tirelessly to lay a solid foundation for the smooth running of the Assembly. As part of the efforts therefore, a budget was laid before the erstwhile Assembly in November, 2016 for the implementation of various developmental projects in line with our vision of improving the standard of living of our people through the provision of socio-economic services and facilities in partnership with stakeholders.
There is therefore the need to take stock of previous year’s activities and identify ways of developing the district through a regular update of existing data upon which we would from time to time make projections.
2018 budget takes cognizance of the policy direction of the NPP government under the Broad National Agenda, the Long-Term National Development Plan (NTNDP – 2018-2047), which seeks to pursue programmes and projects within Five main Goals:
GOAL ONE: Build An Industrialized, Inclusive And Resilient Economy
GOAL TWO: Create An Equitable, Healthy And Discipline Society
GOAL THREE: Build Safe And Well-Planned Communities While Protecting The Natural Environment
GOAL FOUR: Build Effective, Efficient And Dynamic Institutions
GOAL FIVE: Strengthen Ghana’s Role in International Affairs
Indeed special attention is given to:
One district one factory
Planting for food and jobs
Planting for food and investment
The budget also takes into account the Annual Action Planning, and District Medium Term Development Plan ending December 31, 2017.
