An Agency of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNC Foundation has commissioned a modern sanitary facility for Bibiani Newtown.

The complex facility is made up of ten (10) seater water closet toilet facilities, ten (10) bathrooms, two (2) urinals and a mechanized borehole.

At the handing over ceremony, Dr. Dominic Eduah, Executive Director of the Foundation stressed that GNPC was not established just to grow profits, but also to take an active and positive social role in Ghanaian communities. He added that since it’s inception in 2017, the foundation has made significant strides in the provision of physical infrastructure for institutions and communities across the length and breadth of the country. He emphasized that the foundation has footprints in every Municipality or District of the Western North Region.

Some of the projects were lecture theatre and administration block for Bibiani College of Health Sciences, Satellite Campus, UMaT, at Bibiani, Science Laboratory, Bibiani Senior High School, 24-seater Sanitary facility are girls dormitory, Queens SHS, Mechanized. Others are, mechanized borehole, Sefwi Bekwai SHS, dormitory block, Sefwi Wiawso Sec Tech, Six Unit Classroom block for Asafo Nursing Training, and others. He pleaded with the residents and the Municipal Assembly to take good care of the facility by undertaking regular maintenance.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, President of the National House of Chiefs and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GNPC Foundation expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the foundation for honouring his request for the project. Nana Yaw Gyebi ll recounted that the foundation has built similar facilities at Agona Nkwanta and Mankessim respectively. He added that the facility will not serve only the residents of Bibiani but all traders who trek to the place for business hence the siting of the facility at the market.
