The Development Planning Sub-Committee meeting was successfully held today, Wednesday, 18th February 2026, at the Assembly Hall at 8:00 a.m. The meeting brought together committee members to deliberate on key developmental issues affecting the Municipality.

The meeting commenced with an opening prayer, after which the Convener delivered the opening remarks. In the remarks, members were welcomed and encouraged to actively participate in the discussions to ensure effective planning and implementation of development initiatives within the Municipality.
This was followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. Necessary corrections were made, after which the minutes were duly adopted by members present.
Under matters arising from the previous minutes, members discussed pending issues and reviewed the progress made on previously agreed action points.
The Committee proceeded to deliberate extensively on the Biz Box Project, where members shared insights on its implementation and its potential impact on local economic development within the Municipality.
A briefing was also presented on the recent flooding experienced in some parts of Bibiani, particularly Nantwekuminye. The Committee discussed the causes of the flooding and proposed pragmatic measures to address the situation and prevent future occurrences.
Furthermore, the Committee received updates on the preparation of Community Local Plans. Members emphasized the need for continuous stakeholder engagement to ensure that the plans reflect the developmental needs and aspirations of the various communities.
The meeting also discussed the inauguration of Zonal Councils and Unit Committees, highlighting their importance in promoting grassroots participation in local governance and development planning.
Under Any Other Business, members raised additional concerns relating to community development and agreed on the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to facilitate development within the Municipality.
