The exercise, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Alfred Amoah and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Sahib M. Abdul Rahman, monitored the spraying of the 36 markets in the municipal
The markets were; Sefwi Bekwai, Chirano, Anhwiaso, Bibiani Central, Old Town, Hwenampori, Basengele, Lineso, Nzema Nkwanta and a host of others.
According to the MCE, the disinfection was a nationwide exercise initiated by President Akufo Addo’s government to safeguard the spread of the COVID-19 across the country.
He said even though the area was yet to record any case of the pandemic, it was important to enforce precautionary measures to keep a “clean sheet”.
Mr Amoah used the opportunity to urge the people in the area to continue to observe all the protocols put in place to avert the spread of the disease.
He also advised traders at the various markets to ensure a clean environment and adhere to social distancing in order to keep safe at all times.
The MCE commended the people in the municipality for their exceptional show of comportment and compliance by staying indoors to make the disinfection exercise more effective, efficient and generally successful.
He was also thankful to individuals, groups, and organisations who contributed in diverse ways towards the success of the exercise and urged them to keep up the spirit to fight and conquer the pandemic in the municipality and Ghana as a whole.
