The Municipal Co-ordinating Director and Secretary to the Assembly, Mr. Joseph K. Baah-Darkoh, welcomed everyone to the Special Assembly Meeting. He extended a special welcome to the Hon. Regional Minister for the Western North Region, the Hon. Member of Parliament for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, Nananom, and the Hon. Assembly Members for their full presence to facilitate the execution of three critical assignments in fulfillment and strengthening of the decentralized governance system at the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
Throwing more light on the purpose of this special assembly meeting, the secretary to the assembly enumerated the confirmation of the president’s.
nominee as the Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly under Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016(Act 936), swearing-in of the newly appointed government assembly members, and the election of a new presiding member as stipulated in Section 17 of the Local Governance Act, 2016(Act 936 as amended), and Order 9(7) of the Model Standing Orders (2019).
The Magistrate His Worship Lord Delvin Essandoh, swore into office the sixteen (16) newly appointed government assembly members after their appointment by the President of the Republic of Ghana under Article 242 (d) of the 1992 Constitution.
