QUEENS SHS 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Saturday,19th August 2023,was quite an eventful day for the people and students of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area of Bibiani -Bekwai -Anhwiaso Municipality of Western North Region as the President of the Republic ,Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo joined with Nananom to celebrate Queens at 10 Anniversary .
Queens Girls senior High School was established as a community school in the year 2010.This vision of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional council was to bring second cycle Education to the doorsteps of the girls in the sefwi area. The vision of the traditional council headed by Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II, led to the birth of Queens Girls Senior High School in the Western North Region. The School was handed over to the government as public School in 2013 and for that reason Ogyeahohuo needs to celebrate Queens 10th anniversary.
In his welcome address, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, President of the National House is Chiefs expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the invited guests especially, the President for making time out of their busy schedules to honour his invitation. He recounted the history behind the establishment of the school and promised to raise the standards of the school to level of sister schools like Holy Child, Wesley Girls and others.
Additionally, Ogyeahoho eulogized the president of the Republic for rolling out the flagship programme, Free SHS policy. Nana Ogyeahoho described the free SHS policy as ‘Game Changer’ in terms of enrollment, infrastructure, staffing and examination results.

His Excellency president of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo in his Address thanked the President of Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi II for that initiative. The president gave a statistics on free SHS examination results and he said that 2022 results was the best for the past 8 years and advised the students to take their academics works seriously. In addition, President assured that grand Astroturf sporting centre which is under construction at Queens Girls Senior High School and the first SHS in the western North region granted Astroturf will be completed record time to afford the students to develop their sporting talents. He again puts smiles on the face of headmistress that her request will be captured in November budget once he came with the Deputy Minister of Education, Honourable reverend Ntim Fordjour through ministry of education budget and he even supported masters bungalow by donating Fifty-Thousand Ghana cedis cash(GHC 50,000.00). Addition to the president statement Honourable Rev. Ntim Fordjour said that Queens SHS will be compare or next Cape coast Wesley Girls High School in Ghana because of their recent academic performance.
