COMMISSIONING OF 1 NO. 12-SEATER POUR FLUSH TOILET FACILITY IN CHIRANO

On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive, in collaboration with the Hon. Member of Parliament for the district, commissioned a 12-seater pour flush toilet facility at Sefwi Chirano in the Bibiani Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal. The event was chaired by Nana Somiah Gyamprah, the Akyempemhene of the Chirano Traditional area. The commissioning of the toilet facility was witnessed by numerous and well-accomplished dignitaries within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality. These dignitaries included Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Paul Andoh, Member of Parliament Hon. Alfred Obeng, chief of the community, local political actors, Hon. Unit Committee Members, Religious leaders, and other invited guests. The day marked a moment of advancement for the people of the Chirano community.

The program commenced at 2:45pm with an opening prayer, after which the welcome address was delivered by Nana Somiah Gyamprah to welcome all dignitaries present.

After the welcome address, the chairman of the occasion, who is the chief of Chirano, in his speech expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, Member of Parliament Hon. Alfred Obeng, Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Paul Andoh, Municipal Health Directorate, and the entire Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly and the Local Management Committee constructing such a facility. The chief believed the facility will improve sanitation delivery in the community and its environs.

Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive was also invited to deliver his key notes. In the address of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paul Andoh stated that the commissioning of the toilet facility demonstrates a long-lasting empathy and resilience that unites the people. The government of Ghana, led by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, brought about the development of this infrastructure, which holds as a proof of collective dedication to the quality of life of the people and a long-term wealth. The people of the Chirano community had challenges of inadequate toilet facilities, leaving the people helpless, but they now have access to this vital sanitation facility.

Hon. Paul Andoh also emphasized Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3, where the commissioning of the facility falls beneath it. This goal falls in line with the Chirano community by promoting the good health and quality of life of the members of the community. The Municipal Chief Executive also stated that a comprehensive sanitary facility emphasizes the well-being of both current and future generations.

Hon. Paul Andoh concluded his statement by emphasizing that “investing in health today is a great way to build the foundation for a healthier tomorrow. Let us celebrate this fact.”.

After the delivery of messages from the key dignitaries present, members present were given the opportunity to inspect and familiarize themselves with the facility. After the inspection, the entire community and dignitaries expressed a high level of satisfaction at the work done and further thanked the authorities for the good job done. The program was then brought to a close at 5:30pm.
