COMMISSION OF FIVE PROJECTS IN THE CONSTITUENCY BY MP

The Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, HON. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu has commissioned five projects in the Bibiani Municipality.
The MP, who is also the Minister responsible for Western North Region, indicated that the projects were financed through District Development Fund (DDF), under the one constituency, one million dollar projects policy through the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives and GNPC as well.
The projects commissioned include, one Community – based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compound at Bethlehem a village near Bibiani, the Municipal capital, 3unit-classroom block at Sefwi Kunkumso and 6uint classroom block, 10-seater ultra-modern toilet facility and Boy’s dormitory at Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School (SEBESS), all suburbs of Bibiani.
HANDING OVER CEREMONY
During the ceremony , the keys to the CHPS compound were handed over to the Municipal Health of Directorate Bibiani, by Hon. Aboagye Gyedu and said, the health facility was government contribution to the improvement of health within the area and to have the health centre and staff closer to the people in order to response quickly to emergency cases.
According to him, it is the vision of the government to provide health facility closer to every individual to boost access to health care.
This he said, is to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDG5) which focuses on universal health coverage which challenges countries to ensure the accesses to quality health to ensure that access to quality health care is universal and equitable for all, irrespective of location, economic status, age and gender.
Mr. Gyedu said government is determined to provide a CHPS Compound to at least one electoral area within the country to ensure the well-being of the people.
HEALTH DIRECTOR
The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Director of Health, Dr. Francis Takyi who received the keys to the facility, also used the occasion to advise the residents of Sefwi Bethlehem and its villages to register under the Health insurance scheme and tasked others to renew their insurance cards to guarantee them access to the health.
Dr. Takyi said, the facility would also save them from traveling for so many hours to access health care in Bibiani government hospital.
CHAIRMAN
The chief of Sefwi Bethlehem, Nana Adu-Yaw II, who chaired the occasion commended the MP and the MCE for their joint efforts to provide them with this health centre.
He pledged to ensure regular maintenance of the facility to preserve it for future use.
Nana Adu pleaded with the government to fix their feeder roads particularly, from Nzema Nkwanta Juction to Bethlehem.
He said bad nature of the roads was hampering the efforts of farmers to make ends meet as they are unable to transport their produce to the market centre for sale.
Nana finally appealed to the government to provide them with light poles and street bulbs for electrification extension to the new site and other communities like Sefwikrom, Nsiahkrom among others.
COMMISSION OF KG BLOCK AT KUNKUMSO
The Commissioning of the projects also took the Regional Minister and his team to sefwi Kunkumso where, he opens a 3unit-classroom block with a staff common room, offices and toilet facility.
He advised the pupils to learn hard to enjoy the Free SHS after basic school adding ‘’I’m optimistic that many of the you will become members of Parliament, MCEs, doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, bankers in the future’’
Mr. Gyedu used the opportunity to highlight on the Government numerous policies such as the Free Senior High School (SHS), School Feeding Programme, Capitation grant, Free School Uniforms, New Curriculum for Basic school and infrastructure development to promote education. He noted.
Mr. Emmanuel Agyeapong, the Head Master of Kunkumso M/A primary who spoke on behalf of the school management staff and the entire community praised the government and thanked the MP for fulfilling the promised made during his last year community visit to Kunkumso.
Mr. Agyeapong said, the classroom block would save the school from infrastructure deficit so as to increase the school enrolment.

SEFWI BEKWAI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
The Regional Minister tour to commissioned five projects in his constituency finally climaxed at Sefwi Bekwai SHS, which afforded him to the opportunity to commission three projects for the school and also to have interactions with the students.
The projects were, 6unit-classroom block, Boys dormitory and an ultra-modern 10-seater toilet facility under the one constituency, one million projects policy through the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Gyedu admonished the students to the take advantage of the government numerous flagship programmes such as Free SHS and several others to study very hard to attain a good grades after SHS in order to qualify them for the government scholarship for tertiary students.
He revealed that, over 89 brilliant students within the Bibiani Municipality have benefited from the government scholarship programme for 2019/2020 academic year which clearly shows that, the NPP government have lessen the burdens of many parents and guardians of which the money meant for school fees can be equally be used for another project.
BIBIANI MCE On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Mr. Alfred Amoah, commended the Akufo Addo led administration for several allocations of projects into the Bibiani Municipality through the hard working member of parliament.
He mentioned for instance, Mechanized boreholes, Market, Nursing training, supply of medical equipment to Bibiani government hospital theatre, one ware at sefwi Bekwai among others.
HEAD MISTRESS OF SEFWI BEKWAI SHS.
Madam Gloria Gontor, Head Mistress of Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School (SEBESS), on the other hand commended government, MP and the MCE for their collaborative performance within their short period in power.
She pledged to ensure regular maintenance of the facilities so as to serve the purpose of which it was established.
