On the 14th and 15th July 2021, the building contractors in charge of three (3) Community-base Health Planning Services (CHPS compounds) has handed over the infrastructure to the Ministry of Health and the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly to benefits the people of Ntakam, Akaaso and Akaasu.
The MCE, Mr. Alfred Amoah, speaking after receiving the keys to the facility advised the people and the nurses to have a good maintenance culture to make the facility last longer enough to serve it intended purposes. He also thanked the president of Ghana, the ministry of Health (MOH) and the formal Member of Parliament of the municipality, Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu for their efforts made to bringing this beautiful and ultra-modern CHPS to these communities to enhance their access to good health care.
He further applauded the chiefs and traditional leaders for their support and communal effort in land acquisition and building of the facility, edging them, he said they should continue to give their support to nurses and the facility. He indicated that date will soon be set for the official opening of the facility.
The Reginal Health Director, Dr Marion Okoh-Owusu, shared words of appreciation to the MOH for such facility, she also indicated that the regional and municipal health directorates is ever ready to support furnishing and staffing of the facility.
The chief of sefwi Ntakam Nana Kojo Somiah who doubles as Abakomahene of the Anhwiaso Traditional Area, was also grateful to the Government of Ghana for such a great initiative in his community to help solve their inabilities to good health care. He promised that, the community will take very good care of the facility, he knows that more of such projects will come to them if this one is taken care of.
Nana Kwabena Nketia ll, Chief of Sefwi Akaasu in his speech expressed profound gratitude to Mr Gyimah who first gave out his house free of charge for years till date when some nurses first came to inquire from them if they could get some apartment to begin health care delivery in the town.
He also thanked Hon. Aboagye Gyedu; former MP, Hon Alfred Amoah; MCE for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai for their efforts and Western North Regional Director of Health Services; Dr. Mrs. Marion Okoh Owusu and her staff.
Nana Kwasi Nwonu II, Chief of Akaaso and Abakomahene of Chirano traditional council also said nothing different from what his colleagues (other chiefs) said.
The program was grace of with some government officials such as the municipal Health Director Oheneba Oppong Darko, Mr Emmanuel Aboagye (MoH) Mad. Fatima Mohammed (MoH), Municipal chief Engineer, Planning Officers, Administrative Staffs, NADMO officers, ISD and the Media.
