A durbar ground has been held in six separate communities within the Bibiani–Anhwiaso–Bekwai Municipality to inaugurate a series of Developmental projects to ensure the well – being of the people in the area.
The over GH¢899,000 projects with modern facilities which were financed through the Mineral Development fund and Assembly’s share of the District Assembly common fund include Police Station at Sefwi Bekwai, Chips Common at Atronsu, Administration Block at Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School, Small town water project, others were 3- unit classroom block at Asawianso and another 3- unit classroom block with toilet facility, Staff common and Headmaster’s Office at Monor.
The program attracted many dignitaries including the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency who doubles as Deputy Minister of Health Hon. Kingsley Aboagyea Gyedu, Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Alfred Amoah, the Municipal Coordination Director Abdul Rahama, Municipal Commander Superintendent Nana Kumi, others were Dr. Takyi of Bibiani Government Hospital and municipal Director of Education Madam Mercy Emefa Boating respectively. The chiefs and Assembly members of the respective Communities were not left out.
Inaugurating the projects, the Member of Parliament for Bibiani – Anhwiaso- Bekwai constituency Hon. Aboagyea Gyedu appeal to the security personnel not to allow themselves to be influence by any political party but rather remain neutral in discharging their duties in order to reflect upon their motor: Service with Integrity. According to him, shutter is one of the basic priority needs of man which when satisfied encourage and enable employees to fulfil their mandates. It is therefore, in light of that the Assembly decided to provide the police with the needed logistics to enable them provide the public with the necessary Security in Bekwai. According to him all these projects form part of the promises made during the 2016 election campaign including the establishment of nursing training for the municipality.
On the part of the municipal Chief Executive Hon. Alfred Amoah Commanded the contractors and works department for the good work done and appeal to the various communities to ensure regular maintenance to serve the purposes of which project it was established.
The acting president of sefwi Bekwai Traditional council, Nana Kwadwo Twum II, who was the Chairperson for the occasion, thanked the Assembly authorities for such a tremendous performance within one year in office.
Adding that, the station built will go a long way to enhance the police to combat rampant armed robbing cases which has shown it ugly faces in Sefwi Bekwai recent times.
