Bibiani Anhwisso Bekwai Municipal Festival of Arts and Culture SEFWIFESS 2022

The Bibiani Anhwisso Bekwai Municipal Festival of Arts and Culture SEFWIFESS 2022 is celebrated by the chiefs and people of Bibiani Anhwisso Bekwai to promote, preserve, present and develop the rich culture of our people. This festival is also aimed at developing the tourism potentials we have in our Municipality.

Under the theme Harnessing the rich culture potential of sefwiman for rapid economic development, the program was organized by the Bibiani Anhwisso Bekwai Municipal Assembly through the Office of Centre for National Culture in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service Bibiani, the Sefwi Anhwisso Traditional council, the Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council and the Chirano Traditional Council on the 6th and 7th of June 2022 at the Bibiani Roman Catholic School Park.

In attendance was the Municipal Chief Executive of Bibiani Anhwisso Bekwai, Regional and Municipal Directors of education, the Regional Director, Centre for National Culture, nananom from the three paramouncies, Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, Institutions and Agencies, etc.
Head teachers, teachers and over 56 participating schools sourced from the 11 educational circuits in the municipality made the celebration a memorable event.


Delivering his address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alfred Amoah called on the traditional authorities to unite and rally together behind the celebration of the festival to promote and deepen the understanding of Sefwi culture. He further called on the nananom to make the consider making the event an annual celebration so as to draw our people from far and near to our Municipality each year.
He asked the nananom to initiate the processes of celebrating this festival so that the assembly can facilitate the process.

He further called for this festival to be used as a bedrock to develop all the tourism potentials in the municipality in order to draw in investors and boost revenue generation.

The colourful program ended successfully on the 7th of June 2022 with individuals and groups winning awards in various categories which included Poetry, Drum Appellation, Choral Music Traditional Dance, Drama, Arts Exhibition, and Still-Life Drawing.
It is believed that this festival will be a yardstick to measure our cultural recognition and further enhance our prestige as people of Sefwi.
